Guess what? It’s been almost exactly a year since my first blog post! If you’ve followed me this far, then you know that this post will also be about Valentine’s Day! (I will be getting back to the last two parts of my Hawaii trip after this.) To start off, I was surprised with a dozen red heart balloons, a bouquet of pink roses, and–best of all–the RayBan sunglasses I’ve been wanting for years! After a million pictures, I changed into my Valentine’s Day outfit and put the roses in some water. Of course, I wore my awesome sunglasses during the whole drive to my next stop…

We arrived at Mi Cafecito Coffee in downtown Pomona. I forget exactly where I heard about this place, either on Instagram or from a friend, but I had been wanting to try it for awhile since it’s so close to my campus. The cafe is pretty small and on the corner of Main Street, and it wasn’t very busy at all when we got there. It’s a Mexican-based cafe with a bunch of different coffee drinks and Mexican pastries. I ordered the vanilla latte (what a surprise) and a little heart-shaped pastry. We chose to sit at a table outside while we waited for our food because it was actually a beautiful day out compared to the rain we’d been having the past couple weeks.

The table itself was really cute and I was even more excited to find that everything else they served came out cute, too! My vanilla latte was in a eclectically designed mug with a little heart on top for the latte art. My pastry came on an artsy wooden plate that added to Mi Cafecito’s adorable aesthetics. We soon discovered that while my latte tasted really good, the pastry could have definitely used a bit more flavor. But, regardless of the bland food, I was very much enjoying this little cafe.

After finishing up at the cafe, we headed back to the car. However, on our way down Main Street I got a little distracted by a cute vintage store called the Glass House Record Store. It was really tiny and consisted completely of old records and a few cassette tapes. I went up and down the two isles, idly browsing the old covers and decor. Since I don’t have a record player, I soon grew bored and decided it was time to head home since the sun was starting to go down and it was a school night.

Overall, it was a pretty great Valentine’s Day and definitely a great Tuesday. It was an awesome stress reliever during such a difficult quarter at school. Anyways, I hope everyone got to experience a perfect, loved filled Valentine’s Day, too!
